Addictive sits down with Yves Larock. Exclusive Interview.

Addictive: Who is Yves Larock, what is the reason behind the name?
Yves: When I was younger, I was a MC rapper and I name was Arsenrock. Everybody was used to call me Larock, that's why, as simple as that.

Addictive: When did you start producing?
Yves: At the end of 2000 with house music

Addictive: At what age did you know music was going to be a big part of your life?
Yves: I can tell you exactly it was in 1988, when I heard for the first time Public Enemy "Fear of a black Planet", it was a shock

Addictive: What are your influences when you are producing a track?
Yves: All my background in hip hop music I think.

Addictive: Who is your favorite DJ at the moment and why?
Yves: My friend Ludovic B., he is unknown but he is the only one to put me on a dance floor even if I never heard the music before.

Addictive: Traveling around the world must be tiring, what do you do to relax with such a busy schedule?
Yves: I worked, in a real job before to be DJ so I know what is a "normal" job so DJ for me it's only fun.

Addictive: What can the public of Mauritius expect from Yves Larock’s set on the 7th December?
Yves: I will play house music at the beginning and finish a little more electro but it will depend on my public.

Addictive: Are you going to play any new releases from your produced tracks for us?
Yves: No because I'm working now on my album and I have any product finished yet.

Addictive: Bob Sinclar remixed "Zookey" for you how did you feel when he wanted to do this?
Yves: Very proud, very happy he is a reference for me.

Addictive: "Rise Up" is such a smash hit and really gets you in the mood for summer, what was your influence behind this hit record?
Yves: When I start compose this song, it was in December and in December in Switzerland it very freezing so I wanted to put some sunshine in my day and with the reggae voice of Jaba it makes it.

Addictive: So far where have you played that has given you the most exciting vibe? Which club? Which Country?
Yves: To be honest, this time all the clubs that I come are wonderful but if I have to tell you a country, in Portugal at the present time it's huge.

Addictive: Following the success of "Rise Up" what is Yves Larock lining up for his fans?
Yves: My new album.

Addictive: Are you looking forward to being part of the Addictive Tour Family?
Yves: I'm very happy to come in your country that I didn't know; hope it will be a great party for everybody and looking forward to see the sun!
