Rosie Romèro started on the 90’s Manchester club scene at the grand old age of 14 and spent the her youth experiencing clubbing from the dancefloor.
While being a very active and pivotal part of the scene, her thoughts had never turned to being on the other side of the decks. Being a successful model and actress, her life was jam packed as it was. It’s amazing how a simple thing can change a person’s life. After years of being around DJ’s and decks never had once taken an interest, she spent an afternoon at her friend’s house on his turntables and from that day she was hooked. The unquenchable drive and ambition she had used in her modelling and acting career went into overdrive. As with everything she does, she was sickeningly good at it.
Within a year of making the change from modelling to DJing she had secured gigs around the country and was playing monthly at her spiritual home, Sankeys in Manchester. It was not long before Sankeys realised this girl’s potential and she was given the option of hosting her own night at the world famous club. Unsurprisingly her night FrèaquE has been a resounding success, which led to In Bed With Space asking her to host a night for their tour. Miss Romero is now playing at the globally recognised club B.C.M. in Majorca.
This has given the ability to play along side the planet finest DJ’s such as Danny Tenaglia, Dennis Ferrer, Laidback Luke, Chris Lake, Steve Angello, and Jesse Rose to name just a few. Rosie is blessed with the ability to switch between a variety of different music styles, and is just as happy spinning cool minimal Techno to pumping vocal house. Her policy is ‘Music is Music; it’s either good or bad’. She is very aware of the fine line of being credible and not losing sight of the fact that there is a dancefloor to entertain. She hasn’t forgotten her own experiences and wants everyone to have the best damn night they can when she is in control! And that is what the delightful Rosie Romero does, a real showgirl, there’s no skulking behind the decks when she’s in a RR set. She’s usually rocking more than the crowd. She is able captivate man, women or beast with her larger than life persona and does not take herself too seriously. "I'm not about cool. I'm about fun, I love my music and I want the crowd to love it with me and to be enjoying themselves." Rosie has put grade 6 piano skills into good use by producing her first track ‘Bad Girl’ which includes her on vocals as well (No surprise, there!!), which is signed to the American Label Hardplace for release in July 08.
She is back in the studio with Eddie Armani in late June whose successful track “Feel this” topped the dance charts last year. Phew and if that isn’t enough she is sponsored by the trendy clothing brand Ripstop (alongside Micky Slim and Chris Lake). Booked up across Europe and UK, with her first stint in Ibiza this summer and successfully branching out into production. She is hot property and loving every minute of it. |
